Lost Series 2 Finale

Lost Series 2 finale aired last night - wow - (Spoilers ahead)

MASSIVE outstanding questions - but also a lot sort of linked. Biggest one for me is who the hell is Libby?? She has now showed up as an incidental character in two seemingly un-related flashback scenes, both highly relevant to the existence of people on the island. My sister thought Walt was the central character (and to blame) - and enough hints were given that more will be unearthed on this ("we got more than we bargained for"?) - but Libby is now my main culprit. Has Charlie completely forgotten he had just been blown up? Why does the statue have four toes? Why is nobody concerned that half the cast is missing? Did I miss something about the nature of the round the world race? Having spent significant parts of series 2 losing interest, I am now once again truly hooked.

We're getting this movie in the UK as well, and I watched the first part of it last night. As a Londoner, the events of 9/11 are still fresh in our minds, particularly in light of the July bombings last year, which touched everyone. At first I thought it was insensitive to do a host of made for TV telly around the event, but I actually learnt things watching this. I think anyone who works in the city is remembering today.

I'm shocked to hear of Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin's death. And even more surprised to hear it came from a Stingray - see the picture I took with a regular underwater disposable camera at Stingray City in Grand Cayman (one of my favourite ever pictures). Bizarre twists of fate I guess..

Have just been down to Starbucks to get a Toffee Nut Latte and was HORRIFIED to see in pride of place at the top of their menu the Christmas specials, Gingerbread and Eggnog Lattes. Its OCTOBER ! 

The softer side

As this is whole blog-writing malarkey is a recent endeavour, anyone randomly dipping into my scribblings (hello!) probably has yet to absorb the true flavour of my personality. And the reality is that Im quite a hard-core city bod. I work hard and play hard. But I do have a few hidden bits, that people at work dont usually see. One of these is that I'm currently going to Singing classes. I did the first two modules earlier this year and I loved it - it was all group singing and vocal exercises, and very friendly. But now I'm doing solo singing (still in a group class) and its SCARY!! I had to sing two songs Id chosen to work on last night, while my teacher and two other people just sat and listened. How funny that I can be totally confident at work and then get in this small room and be terrified to make a noise. But I am determined to persevere with this!!! And the teacher is great. I'll let you know how I get on...

My love for SkyPlus and Heroes

I love SkyPlus. I bought it about a year ago as a present to aid in the process of getting over my last boyfriend. It proved to be a fabulous replacement. It has gone funny a couple of times but I used the message boards from the nice people at Digital Spy to help me fix it and it just needed a reset (using the bizarre hidden menus. Odd customer design.) Now i can go out on a Tuesday and come home at midnight and still get to watch the second part of Spooks two days later. Which, by the way, was very good. Martine McCutcheon played a cameo role in it and she still came across as Eliza Doolittle, but the guy who plays Adam Carter is extremely good looking, and has that ever-so-attractive 'hero' factor. I've had a thing for heroes ever since I saw Speed, as a teenager, on a plane. You've got to throw in the intimacy of watching a film on a plane on a night flight when everyone else is asleep to get the whole picture but - even though I completely accept he is not the most wonderful actor on the planet - Keanu did it for me. Coincidentally, Matthew Mcfadyen, who used to be in Spooks and had much the same effect, is in Pride & Prejudice, which is being heavily publicised at the moment. Mmmm, heroes everywhere.

The first rainy morning

So this morning is the first time since the Summer that I've woken up to rain on my windows, which I took to be a sign that I should actually stop thinking about starting to write my own blog and actually get on and do it. So here it is - my very own place where I can chat about myself and anything else to my heart's content, and no-one gets bored and hangs up on me. I've recently taken to reading the daily thoughts of some truly brilliant blog writers, and i thought, hey, might as well join in. I might write about me, I might just rant about the incompetencies of various companies, or about interesting stories yet. Oh, the possibilities...
